LOCATION
Meadowbank, Sydney, Australia
The Multi-Trades and Digital Technology Hub at TAFE Meadowbank is Australia’s largest multi-trades hub with a capacity of 3000 students enrolled in vocational education and training.
The first-of-its-kind facility has multidisciplinary, state of the art, functional and reconfigurable training and learning facilities for multi-trades and digital technology.
The six storey, 14,000 square-metre state of the art facility had a construction budget of $106 million.
The spaces:
• Spaces for work, learning, industry engagement, workshops, applied research.
• Circulation spaces to encourage team and individual study, socialising and lounge spaces.
• Gallery, exhibitions and event spaces and end of trip facilities.
The project included a multistorey carpark for 245 car spaces over three levels.
At the start of the project Minale undertook a review of the TAFE NSW Design Standards for Wayfinding & Signage and as a result of its findings and recommendations developed an updated standard with TAFE NSW as a parallel project.
However, for this significant project Minale took the approach to design a family of signs that respond to the use of the building and the architecture.
Minale undertook the scope of concept design, detailed design and documentation.
